Dressage greats to perform in pas de deux
Two of the greatest dressage riders of all time are teaming up to ride a unique pas de deux.
Nations Cup centenery
Charlotte Dujardin and Isabell Werth are to take part in a pas de deux together as part of a gala performance at the CSIO Mannheim in Germany.
The international showjumping event celebrates Germany’s 100th Nations Cup this year. To mark the occasion it is holding a gala performance on the Saturday (18 July) entitled ‘Mannheim – City of Music, Horses and Emotions’.
As part the evening’s entertainment, the pas de deux will see these two dressage icons – both of whom have won Olympic gold – performing together for the first time.
‘Extraordinary pas de deux’
Show director Peter Hofmann said he is “very happy” to present dressage in such a unique way.
“The gala evening matters a great deal to us and we always want to show the horse in all its facets,” he said. “With this extraordinary pas de deux we will offer the spectators a lasting experience, which has never existed before.”
The 100th Nations Cup competition kicks off on 16 July, with the Nations Cup competition taking place on Saturday, followed by the gala night. The show closes on Sunday 19 July with the Grand Prix.
