Dani Evans off squad at Eventing Europeans

Just one day before the FEI Eventing European Championships kick-off Dani Evans and Smart Time have been withdrawn.

Under the weather

The 23-year-old eventer from Somerset was due to make her senior team debut, but Smart Time wasn’t feeling “quite himself”.

“He felt a little under the weather,” said chef d’ equipe Yogi Breisner. “A routine set of bloods were taken, which are not quite right and in the best interests of the horse we have decided to withdraw him from the competition.

“All the other British horses travelled well and are in good form.”

Team announcement

Sarah Bullimore (42) and her own Lilly Corinne have been called up as replacements.

The team of four out of a squad of 12 will be announced later today after the first trot-up.
