Harry Meade gets team call-up for Aachen
There’s been a change to the line-up of Team GB’s FEI Nations Cup eventing squad for Aachen, with Harry Meade given the call-up.
Come-back King
Harry, riding Charlotte Opperman’s Wild Lone, will now take the place of Tina Cook and De Novo News, after a’change of competition plan’ means Tina has reroutedto Barbury International this weekend.
At Badminton, Harry finished third following a strong cross-country performance that saw them rocket up the scoreboard. It was a remarkable result, considering that nine months early the rider had suffered a bad cross-country fall that had left him with two broken elbows.
Next step Normandy?
Given the strength of their Badminton performance, some felt Harry was unlucky to miss out on a team place for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in France this summer.
But with Izzy Taylor’s horse withdrawn from the squad, and Harry now having the chance to compete in Aachen alongside the riders who’ll be heading to WEG, could this be a sign that the Gloucestershire rider will get a further call-up for Normandy?
