Attempted burglary at Lucinda Fredericks’ yard

Lucinda Federicks’s head groom has intercepted burglars at her yard in Devizes.

According to Lucinda a “land-cruiser type 4×4” drove up to the yard just after midnight last night (25 March). The intruders went into the barn, where it is believed they tried to steal a quad bike, before the alarm was set off.

Yard manager and head groom Jackie Hoon, who lives on the yard, came out to investigate.

“On shining a torch at their car the vehicle turned their lights out, reversed at high speed and drove at high speed breaking through the main gate,” said Lucinda.

Nothing was stolen and no one was hurt during the incident.

Information needed

Lucinda is calling for the public to look out for a 4×4, which may have damage to the front as a result of crashing through the gate. It is also believed the vehicle is also losing fluid as a long trail of oil or petrol was also left on the driveway.

Anyone with any information should contact either Devizes or Trowbridge police station.

“Thank you to the police officers who attended the scene last night and to everyone who is helping to sort things out,” said Lucinda.
