Brits dominate at international endurance event

British riders cleaned up at the Kings Forest International Endurance Event in Suffolk (12 July).

In commemoration

Nicola Thorne and LM 42 took the top prize in the CEI3* 160km class with a time of 9hrs, 25mins, 36secs and average speed of 17km/h. Nicola’s horse was also awarded Best Condition by the veterinary panel.

Annette Masterson, who represented Great Britain at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, was second on Millennium Chorus, while Louise Rich and Oakleazefarm Cziko came third.

Fourth place went to Dutch rider Donna Oudshoorn, whose previous top horse tragically fell and died shortly after competing in the 2012 World Endurance Championships at Euston Park. Donna competed her new horse Sera in his first 3* to commemorate Karrimh.

Best condition

The 120km CEI2* was won by Harry Ingram riding Warrens Hill Chayze in a time of 6hrs, 39mins, 24secs, and average speed of 18km/h. Second place went to David Yeoman on Trop Vite Azureen and third to Andrea Champ on Druimghigha Luxor.

Kathy Carr and Aberllwyd Femme Fatalle won the 80 CEI1* (4hrs, 47mins, 17secs) as well as Best Condition. Sharon Parr was second riding another Warrens Hill horse, Warrens Hill Troy.

The next international ride is at Hanslope in Milton Keynes on 1 August.
