International side-saddle celebration at Aintree

The Side-Saddle Association is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a weekend of displays and competitions at Aintree.

Raise the profile

The International Side-Saddle Celebration is the association’s biggest event to date, which aims to raise the profile of side-saddle riding and show its versatility.

Saturday 9 May features a programme of side-saddle riding including, dressage to music, side saddle through the ages, jumping, hunting and even a Downton Abbey-themed display.

On the Sunday there is a show, with a range of side saddle classes open to members and non-members, and competitors attending from all around the world.

If you’ve always wanted to try riding side-saddle, now is your chance asthe association’s instructors will offering lessonson mechanical horses.
