The Box Office is open – buy your tickets now for Badminton 2017
With this bleak weather, it’s hard to imagine it’ll soon be spring, sunshine (we hope) and eventing season. But with tickets now on sale for this year’s Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, it won’t be long until we get our four-star fix once again.
New course designer
This year’s event gets underway on Wednesday 3 May with the Mitsubishi Motors Cup (formerly known as the Badminton Grassroots Championships) and concludes with the four-star showjumping on Sunday 7 May.
Around 100,000 visitors are expected on cross-country day (Saturday), making it one of the highest attended sporting events in Britain.
Prices start from £7 per person on the opening day, going up to £28 on cross-country day, while parking passes cost an additional £10. There is advance savings on all tickets bought in advance compared to on the gate.
This year’s event will have a new course designer, with Eric Winter replacing Giuseppe della Chiesa.
Roll of honour
The first prize will be £100,000, with money prizes going down to 20th place. Last year the trophy was listed by Michael Jung, who also claimed the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing at the event.
It’s not long to wait until we find out who’ll be adding their name to the roll of honour.
