Watch Olympia World Cup competitions on Horse & Country
The FEI World Cup competitions at Olympia are the highlight of the equestrian calendar – and you watch them all on Horse & Country.
World Cup dressage
The action kicks off with FEI World Cup dressage, which features two tests: the Grand Prix and the Freestyle to Music.
Names to look out for at this year’s event include Charlotte Dujardin who will be riding Hawtins Delicato, the incredible new star who took her to team bronze at the FEI World Equestrian Games.
Joining Charlotte will be fellow Brits Hayley Watson Greaves (Rubins Nite), Richard Davison (Bubblingh) and National Dressage Champion Lara Butler (Rubin Al Asad).
However, British riders will face stiff competition in the form of Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud.
World Cup Jumping
The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping is the most important showjumping event at Olympia. It attracts the biggest names in sport, and this year’s start list includes world number two Steve Guerdat and showjumping legend and world number four, Marcus Ehning.
Flying the flag for Great Britain are the likes of Scott Brash, Ben Maher, Laura Renwick and John and Michael Whitaker.
Last year the event was won by France’s Julien Epaillard – so who will take this prestigious title this year?
FEI World Cup Driving
The final event in this World Cup extravaganza is FEI World Cup Driving. It’s edge-of-your-seat stuff, as teams of four horses gallop around, through and over a set of obstacles against the clock. Faults are gained if an obstacle is knocked or the incorrect route is taken, the top score with the least faults wins.
Last year the title went to Dutch driver Ijsbrand Chardon, who is currently at the top of the World Cup Driving leaderboard. However, Boyd Exell is also competing and will be keen to take the title after narrowly missing out on a win at last year’s show.
