Uthopia will remain at home with Carl Hester
Carl Hester has today announced that Uthopia will stay at his yard in Gloucestershire.
Nothing better
After the lengthy legal battles over his ownership, Uthopia will remain at Carl Hester’s base.
Carl is delighted to resolve the horse’s future. “Good news, I confirm Uthopia has been secured and will stay at home where he’s much loved.”
“Those involved wish to be anonymous, we are so grateful,” he said.
The London Olympic team gold-winning horse was purchased by an unknown buyer for £165,000 through an online auction last month.
Carl, who was unable to secure Uthopia himself, has since been in talks with the buyers, who have come to an agreement to keep the horse On his premises.
“This is the best news and the team are all very happy now we know ‘Uti’ is staying at home,” said Carl.
Celebrations
The 15-year-old stallion has won a total of five Championship medals with Carl, including Olympic team gold at London 2012 and two individual silvers at the 2011 European Championships.
Carl, who found Uthopia as a four-year-old, was listed as the sole owner of the horse for a period of 16 months in 2010/2011, and then the co-owner from September 2011.
The dressage rider, whose birthday happens to be tomorrow, can now truly celebrate.
“Thanks for all the support, overwhelming to know so many people care. Will make tomorrow’s birthday celebrations even better!”
