It’s been an incredible season for the 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour – and it isn’t over yet, as the inaugural GCT Super Grand Prix takes place this month at the GC Playoffs.
World class
The GC Playoffs is a thrilling new event on 13-16 December at the O2 arena in Prague. It is the first indoor event on the Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League calendar.
The Super Grand Prix will see 16 world class combinations in the ultimate showdown, with €1.25 million up for grabs. The riders are winners of each LGCT Grand Prix during the 2018 season, or runners up if the winner had already qualified.
Those qualified include Scott Brash, Ben Maher, Shane Breen, Edwina Tops-Alexander and Harrie Smolders.
Unstoppable form
In addition to the Super Grand Prix, there is also the team event, with the 16 best teams from the GCL 2018 season battling it out in a bid to win an incredible €3 million.
Ben Maher is on unstoppable form with his top horse Explosion W – winning the final in Doha and also being crowned the 2018 Champion of Champions. He is also the team captain of the London Knights, who have won an impressive five of the 16 legs. So Ben is definitely the one to watch in Prague.
The Czech capital is one of the world’s most beautiful cities, providing the perfect backdrop for this glamorous event.
