‘Honoured’

The charity said it is ‘honoured’ to be associated with a rider of Scott’s calibre.

“We are all so thrilled to welcome Scott as a vice president of the Mark Davies Injured Riders’ Fund,” said administrator and fund co-ordinator Rosemary Lang.

“It is wonderful to have such a hugely talented and respected rider on board to help us promote the work we do to help those injured in horse-related accidents.”

Scott has already carried out his first official duty by judging the ‘Best Dressed’ at Hickstead’sLadies Day, which was held in aid of the charity.

Prevent injury

The Mark Davies Injured Riders’ Fund was set up in 1988 by Mark’s parents, after he tragically died in an accident at Burghley Horse Trials.

Anyone who has been involved in a horse-related accident qualifies for assistance. This could be in legal advice, practical or financial help, or moral support to the victim and their families.

The charity is also at the forefront of education about the importance of correct headgear and body protectors to help prevent injury.
