Rio 2016: All horses through the trot-up
It may not be the opening ceremony until tonight but for the equestrian athletes competing at Rio 2016, proceedings have already got underway with the eventing trot-up.
All horses passed the first horse inspection, although Spain’s Albert Hermoso Farrar’s stallion Hito CP was sent to the holding box before being passed.
There have been two substitutions already – Germany’s travelling reserve Julia Krajewski will take the place of Andreas Ostholt, while Sweden’s reserve Linda Algotsson takes the place of Anna Nilsson.
Update: Following the trot up, Jock Paget has since withdrawn Clifton Lush after the horse cut his face on an exposed pipe outside his stable. They have been replaced on the New Zealand team by Tim Price and Ringwood Sky Boy.
