Paris to host FEI World Cup Finals in 2018
Paris is to hold the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final and FEI World Cup Dressage Final 2018.
‘Level of excellence’
This is the first time both finals have been held together in the French capital, although it hosted the dressage finals in 1991 and jumping finals in 1987.
The city beat off competition from Las Vegas and Gothenburg to win the bid.
“Last year France hosted the largest Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games to date, and we are confident that GL Events – the team that organised brilliant double finals in Lyon in 2014 – will take the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final and the FEI World Cup Dressage Final 2018 to a new level of excellence,” said FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez (nee Zeender).
The FEI World Cup Finals will take place on 10-15 April at the AccorHotels Arena, formerly known as Paris Bercy Arena, which is in central Paris.
Perfect lawns
Unusually for an indoor venue, the building does boast perfect green lawns – albeit on its exterior, sloping walls. We think even Charlotte might struggle to produce a decent test on that!
The indoor arena hosts the annual Paris Masters tennis tournament each year, as well as numerous pop concerts from the likes of Madonna, Kylie and U2.
