Mandarin Oriental win again at Polo in the Park
The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Team Hong Kong were victorious once again at the Chestertons Polo finals at Hurlingham Park.
Champions reborn
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Team Hong Kong impressed on the pitch with high-quality shots and ball striking to overcome stiff opponents and take the title for the second year running.
The winners came up against unbeaten newcomers Jnan Amar Polo Club Team Marrakech after both teams eased through to the final.
Reflecting on the 3-4 victory player Sebastian Dawnay said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won Chestertons Polo in the Park for the second year in a row.
“It is such a great tournament and with unbelievable crowds over the three day we are already looking forward to next year ” he added.
Elsewhere in the runner up final Navigant Team New York put up a fine display on the pitch to get narrowly beaten 7-5 by Argentex Team Dubai.
Big crowds for Ladies Day
The West London venue attracted thousands of spectators who basked in the summer sunshine and enjoyed top polo action from the teams in action.
Ladies day kicked off with home side MINT Team London taking on Air Europa Team Buenos Aires.
Presented by Little Miracles Drinks Ladies day provided stunning entertainment with a range of bars and retail shops adding glamour to the polo event.
George Spencer Churchill of MINT Team London commented on the occasion “This year’s Chestertons Polo in the Park has been amazing.
“The crowds over the three days have been the biggest I have ever seen and its such fun to be able to play right in the heart of London.”
