Jumbo is top sire for second year in a row
Jumbo has topped the British Eventing(BE) SireRankingsfor a second year in a row, while maintaining his position as BE’sSireof All Time.
British-bred
The British-bred stallion was sadly put down in March aged 31. In his younger years he was a successful event horse himself, competing up to three star level with Andrew Nicholson.
He then went on to sire 45 advanced event horses, including three times Burghley winner Avebury (also ridden by Andrew), and Lucinda Fredericks’ Headley Britannia – the only mare to win Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky titles.
Young horse rankings
The top Sireof Young HorseRankings, for horses aged between four and eight years, is the popular eventing and showjumpingsireRamiro B.
The stallion moves up four places from his 2014rankingafter impressive performances from his progeny this year including eight-year-old Cooley SRS who won the Ballindensik CCI3* and Burnham Market International CIC2* under Oliver Townend.
