Douglas Lindelöw wins first leg of FEI Jumping World Cup in Oslo

Sweden’s Douglas Lindelöw has won the first leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League in Oslo.

‘Great feeling’

Douglas was fourth to go in a 12-horse jump-off, with many of the world’s best still to ride. But the 27-year-old knew he was in with a chance with his brilliant bay gelding Zacramento.

“Zacramento has been in really good shape since finishing second in the Grand Prix in Brussels last month, so I came here with a great feeling and from the first day I believed we could give it a go,” said Douglas, who was a member of Sweden’s silver medal winning team at the 2017 European Championships.

They certainly did give it a go, and their time of 44.67sec proved too fast to beat.

Rio 2016 Olympic team gold medallist Kevin Staut was second (45.51sec), with Australian star Edwina Tops-Alexander just behind him in third (45.56sec).
